Meet the Plumbers: Fairfield City Council

22 September 2019

Meet Lachlan Crowe and James Roulis! They are our plumbing apprentices, hosted to Fairfield City Council.

While they are doing the same trade and based at the same host, Lachlan and James are in very different stages of their plumbing careers. Lachlan is in the 1st year of his apprenticeship, which he started only a few months ago. James is in the 4th Year of his apprenticeship, which he will complete early next year.

Mostly jetting and unblocking drains or toilets. I work at leisure centres, public toilets and fields.

Mainly how to use the basic hand tools for this job.

What do you enjoy most about your job as a plumber?

I like that I’m not always working indoors.

If you had any advice for someone looking to begin a plumbing apprenticeship, what would it be?

It’s a good job. It’s good because it’s always a different job every day, you’re not just at the same place.
