2022 Highlights: Milestone Year for My Gateway

29 November 2022

In 2022, My Gateway celebrated its 40-year anniversary!

My Gateway began in 1982, when Camden Council, Campbelltown City Council and Wollondilly Shire Council, along with the Macarthur Development Board, were approached by The Lend Lease Foundation to facilitate the creation of a group training body in the Macarthur area.

The aim was to enable young people to receive training and experience in the work place with the overall objective to increase the number of qualified apprentices in the workforce. Over the last 40 years, we have seen thousands of young people complete their placements and move onto bigger and better things. So, it’s safe to say the original aim has been achieved, yet the journey continues!

To mark this special occasion, we held a special luncheon in September. We were joined by past and present apprentices, trainees, host businesses and industry members to celebrate with us.

My Gateway was also honoured for this milestone at the recent Apprentice Employment Network NSW & ACT’s 2022 Group Training Awards.

We would like to thank everyone who has been part of My Gateway’s journey this past 40 years! Bring on year 41!
