2020 Intake: Jobs Available for Next Year

With the new year upon us, My Gateway is looking to fill several jobs that will commence in early 2020.

You can find all the current roles we have on offer to begin next year in the list below. If you are interested in applying for any of these, please complete our Expression of Interest form. Apprenticeships

Boilermaker (1st Year)

Qualification: Engineering Fabrication Trade Certificate III
Location: St Marys
Description of tasks: Repair, manufacturing and maintenance of Heavy Engineering equipment and components. Working from engineering draws, work with and assisting tradesmen, general engineering and Defence Force projects, operating and using welding machines. Learning Mig/Tig and stick welding in all positions.
Candidate criteria: Some who is keen and motivated enjoys the welding and fabrication activities. Good with maths and has good communication skills. May have done engineering at school or a pre-apprenticeship course.
Work hours: Monday – Friday; 6:00am – 2:30pm

Civil Construction Apprentice

Qualification: Civil Construction – Road Construction & Maintenance Certificate III
Location: Picton
Description of tasks: Working in small crews of approximately eight team members, in various sections including; plant operation, road construction, gutters, ashphalt etc.
Candidate criteria: Someone who is thick-skinned, must have a passion for the industry, mature-minded and physically fit.
Work hours: Monday – Friday; 7:00am – 4:00pm
Must have: Licence and White Card

Construction Carpentry Apprentice (1st Year)

Qualification: Construction Carpentry Certificate III
Location: Sydney
Description of tasks: Read plans, work safely at heights, undertake formwork for slabs, support columns, walls, stairs, ramps, handle materials, carpentry work, work with steel formwork, patch concrete, usage of power tools and hand tools associated with the construction industry.
Candidate criteria: Hard working, reliable, committed apprentices that would like a possible career with Lendlease. Must be prepared to work overtime. Must not be afraid of heights.
Work hours: Monday – Friday; 7:00am – 3:30pm
Must have: White Card

Construction Carpentry Apprentice (2nd Year)

Qualification: Construction Carpentry Certificate III
Location: Sydney
Description of tasks: Working on large construction sites forming up steps, cutting timber, building columns, constructing ramps, working with steel, using various power & hand tools, constructing site fencing, working with sub-contractors in various trades.
Candidate criteria: Highly motivated apprentices that are not afraid of working long hours and travelling to the various job sites for work.
Work hours: Monday – Friday; 7:00am – 3:30pm
Must have: Licence and White Card

Electrical Apprentice (1st Year)

Qualification: Electro technology Electrician Certificate III
Location: Sydney area
Description of tasks: Commercial building sites. Apprentices with be installing cable trays, running cables, working on switch boards, installing power, completing fit offs, roughing in.
Candidate criteria: Reliable apprentices, that are hardworking and not afraid to work all over Sydney on various commercial projects. Must not be afraid of heights.
Work hours: Monday – Friday; 7:00am – 3:00pm
Must have: Licence and White Card

Electrical Apprentice (1st and 2nd Year)

Qualification: Electro technology Electrician Certificate III
Location: Ingleburn
Description of tasks: Install, set up, fault find, repair and maintain electrical systems & equipment in new & existing structures all over Sydney.
Candidate criteria: Strongly motivated apprentices. Must be willing to work all over Sydney. Apprentices must be willing to work away from home for one week at a time.
Work hours: Monday – Friday; 7:00am- 3:30pm
Must have: Licence and White Card

Fitting & Machining Apprentice (1st Year)

Qualification: Engineering Mechanical Trade Certificate III
Location: Smeaton Grange
Description of tasks: Repair, manufacturing and maintenance of mining equipment and components, using manual mills, lathes cut off saw vertical bores and grinding machines and well as NCN mills and lathes, hard facing and laser cladding equipment, working from engineering draws, work with and assisting tradesmen.
Candidate criteria: Someone who is keen and motivated. Has an interest to learning the fitting and machining trade, mechanically minded, and is good with maths.
Work hours: Monday – Friday; 7:00am – 3:30pm

Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (1st Year)

Qualification: Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology Certificate III
Location: Spring Farm
Description of tasks: Maintaining, repair & servicing of mobile plant equipment, maintaining, repair & servicing of heavy vehicle equipment, maintaining, repair & servicing of earth moving equipment, using hand and power tools, air operated hand tools, working with and assisting tradesmen, repairing gearboxes, clutches, differentials and suspensions, repairing hydraulic and electrical systems, welding and hard facing of excavator buckets.
Candidate criteria: Someone who is keen and motivated to learn and can follow instructions.
Work hours: Monday – Friday; 11:30am – 7:30pm
Must have: White Card

Plant Mechanic Apprentice

Qualification: Automotive – Mobile Plant Technology Certificate III
Location: Campbelltown
Description of tasks: Carry out diagnostic procedures – Test, service and charge batteries. Carry out repairs to single electrical circuits. Repair engines and components, repair transmissions, repair hydraulic braking systems.
Candidate criteria: Mature minded, willing to learn, good communication skills, interest in the industry, enthusiastic.
Work hours: Monday – Friday; 7:00am – 4:00pm
Must have: Licence and White Card

Plant Mechanic (1st Year)

Qualification: Automotive – Mobile Plant Technology Certificate III

Plant Mechanic Apprentice (1st Year)

Qualification: Automotive – Mobile Plant Technology Certificate III
Location: Picton
Description of tasks: Maintenance of Council work vehicles. Servicing of motors & brakes. Service and repairs to electrical circuits and systems. Change oil filters. Work on trucks, 4WD, cars, plant machinery, mowers and mobile equipment
Candidate criteria: Mechanically minded, passionate about the trade, keen to learn. This is a 12 month placement with Council, after 12 months will be rotated to another host.
Work hours: Monday – Friday; 7:00am – 4:00pm
Must have: Licence and White Card

Traineeships

Administration Trainee – Indigenous Identified

Qualification: Business Administration Certificate III
Location: Sydney
Description of tasks: Duties involve invoicing, data entry, filing, handling customer enquiries, scanning documents, working on spreadsheets, creating purchase orders.
Candidate criteria: Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander candidate. Mature minded, willing to learn, strong work ethic, acts with integrity and respect.
Work hours: Monday – Friday; 9:00am – 5:30pm (Flexible hours)

Administration Trainee

Qualification: Business Administration Certificate III
Location: Camden
Description of tasks: Duties involve data entry into TRIM, customer service, answering phones, collecting and distributing mail, scanning and photocopying documents.
Candidate criteria: Someone who is a young professional. Eager to learn, good communication skills, drivers licence preferred.
Work hours: Monday – Friday; 8:30am – 4:30pm

Administration Trainee

Qualification: Business Administration Certificate IV
Location: Picton
Description of tasks: Duties involve filing, photocopying, faxing documents,use of Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, TRIM & CRM Programs, customer service, data entry, answering phones.
Candidate criteria: Someone who is a young professional. Eager to learn for 24 month period and has good communication skills.
Work hours: Monday – Friday; 8:00am – 4:30pm
Must have: Licence

Administration Trainee

Qualification: Business Administration Certificate III
Location: Campbelltown
Description of tasks: Duties involve filing, photocopying, scanning, customer service, answering phones, use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Chrome. Use of knowledge management & customer request programs & Learning Management System.
Candidate criteria: Someone who is mature minded, willing to learn, well presented, good communication skills, enthusiastic.
Work hours: Monday – Friday; 8:00am – 4:30pm
Must have: Licence

Finance Trainee

Qualification: Accounting and Bookkeeping Certificate IV
Location: Picton
Description of tasks: Duties involve filling, faxing, data entry, answering phones, customer service. Use of Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Chrome. Use of finance management systems.
Candidate criteria: Someone who is eager to learn, strong interpersonal skills, reliable, good communication, strong customer focus, financial interest.
Work hours: Monday – Friday; 8:00am – 4:30pm
Must have: Licence
